Base Foundation
Just thought I would share this with you.....a makeup tip, or more of a makeup observation. A friend (I won't name names) a while back stopped wearing base foundation and just wore powder. She just wore powder for about a year maybe longer. Now don't get me wrong, she has beautiful skin and a beautiful complexion so only wearing powder works for her. So the other day I saw her and she looked about 10 years younger (her face) and I thought maybe she had a facelift, or a chemical peel or something because she looked so much younger. I asked her and she said she started wearing base foundation again. I couldn't believe the difference it made! Anyway just thought I would pass that along for anyone wanting a change or maybe have a special occasion coming up and you want to dress it up a little. She said she used a liquid foundation, Revlon. If anyone has a makeup tip they would like to share please comment!

Skin Care
In the winter I love this product....M.D. Forte II Facial Cream with Glycolic Acid. It gets the dead skin off and gives you a nice glow. You can use it all year around but I just use it in the winter. They recommend you start with I and then move up to II because it has a higher Glycolic Acid. They also have a III but I like the II. You can get this at your dermatologist. I usually am able to find it on ebay and you save about 10.00 to 15.00 $ even with shipping.

Hair Tip- one more thing...
I forgot to add when you wash out the conditioner to use cool water. I try to get the water as
cool as I can stand it!

Hair Tip
My hairdresser and friend (Hi Erica!!) back in Dallas told me about this one....Have you ever been to Tony and Guy? One thing they offer is a Hair Health Bar. You can have this extra deep conditioning done to your hair for only 25.00. I had it done once and really did like the results. Erica use to work at Tony and Guy and she left to opened her own place. She told me how to do the deep conditioning at home to save money. First wash your hair like normal including your conditioner and rinse like normal. Then towel dry your hair but still leave danmp and put a conditioner on your hair again. She recommended Tresemme (she said all the expensive stuff is basically the same except more expensive) for dry or damaged hair. Any kind of cond will work as long as it is for dry or damaged hair. I also like Herbal essences color me happy. After you put on the cond (I put a ton on and run my fingers through my hair and then put even more on!) blow dry your hair for 20 to 30 min. I use the low setting only because my hair dries too fast on high.It is ok if your hair does dry. Erica said you have to at least dry for 20 to get the best results. Then back in the shower and rinse hair. In the winter I do this every 6 weeks and in the summer every 8 weeks. I love the results!! Your hair will thank you!!

Another Product I Love!
Obagi Clear which is another product I love. It is a skin bleaching and corrector cream for
hyperpigmentation such as freckles, sun spots, and other areas of hyperpigment. I have freckles
which become worse with sun exposure so this cream will fade them out. You have to get this
product at a dermatologist or a skin care clinic at a plastic surgeons office. It is not over the counter. This product works really well with retinol.

Dry Skin
When Fall comes around my skin tends to dry out and one product that really helps is
Olay regenerist daily regenerating serum. I love this stuff! It is really great! I don't use it
in the summer because the humidity is so high here I don't need it but when Fall and Winter
come around my skin gets dried out and this product really works!

Eyelash Curler
So I am sure everyone has heard about the eyelash curler as well as holding
the curler under the blow dryer to heat it up to make the eyelashes curl even more.
I don't use the eyelash curler everyday but every once in awhile I will do it to change
things up. The other day I used it and my friend asked me what I had done to make
my eyelashes so long and I told her. Well the next day she looked like she had fake
eyelashes on! She said she had used the curler after putting it under the hair dryer.
I didn't realize how much of a difference it made!! So if you are looking for something
to change it up you might add this in! :)

How I Fix My Hair
I have had a few questions on how I fix my hair so I thought this would be a good post. So here it goes....it is just all natural. Thats it. I don't have to do a thing to make it look like this.....JK! Don't you hate when people say that! Ok here is how I really do it. I wash my hair then towel dry it. I then spray my hair with Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray which is like a detangler and comb it out. Then I decide if I am going to wear it straight or curl it with hot rollers. If I am going to wear it straight then I put tresemme's straightening gel in my hair. If I am going to curl my hair I put pantene curl defining gel in and if I am not sure then I use pantene body builder volumizing gel and decided later. Then I blow dry my hair. I blow dry my hair the same way weather I am wearing it straight or if if I am going to curl it. First I blow dry upside down, then just blow dry for awhile till hair is almost dry then I use a brush to blow dry the rest of the way dry. Then I use a straightener to straighten my hair or I use hot rollers to curl my hair. I usually wash my hair every 3 days. The days I do not wash my hair I will spray the Tresemme Heat Tamer on my hair then use my straighten or hot rollers. If I straighten my hair on the day I wash it then I have to wear it straight on the days I do not wash it and same if I curl it with hot rollers. And that is pretty much it. As far as shampoos and cond. go I use different ones. I like Pantene, Tresemme, Herbal Essences, ect. I usually get the ones for color treated hair or deep conditioning. I do high light my hair in the spring and summer a couple shades lighter than my natural color and then go back to my natural color in the winter. When I was a kid I didn't have to do this because I had the time to hang out outside and my hair would natural lighten up but now I give it some help. I started high lighting my hair when I was 23 or 24. I also play around with my parts, sometimes I part it in the middle and sometimes on the side and I switch sides here and there. So thats it in a nut shell!

Hand Moisturizer and eye cream
I have found that sunscreen Banana Boat Sport spf 30 is a really
good hand moisturizer. I put it on every morning (gotta keep those
hands young!) and find that it really does help moisturize all day for
my hands! As well as protect against the sun!
My number one eye cream that I love love love is Dr Brandt Lineless
eye cream but I have to order it (I usually get it on ebay and save about
10 to 20 dollars) so I ran out and bought Olay total effects eye cream for
a backup until my Dr Brandt comes in and I really do like the Olay! I do
think the Dr Brandt is better but Olay comes close so if anyone would needs
a new eye cream I recommend Olay Total Effects eye cream!

Skin Care
I thought I would talk a little bit about some of the products I use on my face for skin care and what I have learned over the years. About 8 years ago I went to a dermatologist's office and he told me that the products you get at department stores are no better than the kind of product you can get at target, walmart, ect except they are a lot more expensive!! He recommended the kind of products that you can get at a dermatologist's office or plastic surgeon's office or over the counter from Wal-Mart, ect . With my experience with products from department stores, I do have to agree with him because I never noticed a difference with products from department stores vs. oil of olay, ect. But I have used products from dermatologist's and have noticed a difference. I like MD Forte and Obagi. I also use a really good eye cream from Dr Brandt called lineless eye cream. I LOVE that eye cream!! One trick I have learned, after you go to a dermatologist or skin care clinic at a plastic surgeon's office and find the products that work for you and it is time to buy more you can go on ebay and see if you can find that product. I have been able to get products for about 10.00 to 20.00 dollars cheaper. I usually just do the 'Buy it now' but you might be able to get even a better deal by doing the bidding wars on ebay. Just always make sure they are "never been open" on ebay. Also don't forget the sunscreen!! It really does make a difference! Just look at the areas on your body that never get sun vs. the areas that do and see what a difference. But once you start adding sunscreen to areas that have been exposed to the sun, after awhile you will notice a big improvement in those areas. Improvement will also happen quicker if you also find some great products to help turn back time. A great book I have is called 10 Minutes 10 Years Your Definitve Guide To A Beautiful And Youthful Appearance by Dr Fredric Brandt is really a great book!! It is a real easy read and if you are having issues with say skin around your eyes you just turn to the chapter about eyes. Or if you have issues with skin on your hands, you turn to that chapter and it talks about all the things you can do to improve that area. It tells you everything from over the counter products to plastic surgery. One thing I love about this book is plastic surgery is the last thing he recommends. There are many many options that can really improve you skin. It is a great reference book to have!
ps. If you do use a product from a department store that you like and works for you don't change it!!!! Everyone is different and what might work for some doesn't mean it will work for everyone.

Beauty tip
Just thought I would share this to see if this might help anyone else. I have used Tretinoin cream on and off for about 7 years. I always used it at night as instructed and my face always peeled from it. I would use it every other day, ect until I got down to about twice a week so that my face would not peel but I didn't really see any benefit from using it twice a week. So the last couple of years I have stopped putting it on at night and started putting it on in the morning before makeup and now my face does not peel from it. I can use it everyday (sometimes my face will peel alittle so I have to skip a day or two but this is rare now) now. Just thought I would pass that on. Don't forget to wear sunscreen over it!!!! My moisturizer has sunscreen, my base has sunscreen and during the spring and summer I also use bananaboat sunscreen spf 30.
Talk to everyone later!

Favorite Brush!!
Well I think most woman and probably a lot of men will know what I am talking about in this blog. My favorite brush broke!! You know the one that is the only one that will make your hair perfect! I swear I have had only 3 brushes in my life (well since the time I started doing my own hair as a little girl) and the only reason I have ever changed was because they broke. One brush I stole from my mom when I was a little girl (this is where it all started) and she had to go get her another one. She got it at her hairdresser which is where I have gotten all my best brushes from. Anyway me, my mom and sister all had this brush and I was probably about 3rd grade when I got it. That one lasted me till I got married at 23!! Then I got another one which lasted about 5 years and then this one that just broke today lasted almost 6 years. Luckily I got this one at Tony N Guy and I think they still sell the same one so I will stop by there today to get a new one. Isn't it funny how only certain brushes will fix our hair? Maybe it is all in our mind but all I know is today my hair does not look good! LOL!!
Anyone else have a fav brush too??
