Books

I thought I would post some books that I have read recently and liked in case anyone
is making a trip to the bookstore soon.

Barbara Walters Audition...This was was REALLY good!! I am not a huge fan of Barbara but have always liked her but this book has made me a huge fan! It is amazing how far woman have come in the work place from when she started out. The whole book was good and I couldn't put it down!!

Valerie Bertinelli Losing It....This was a very easy read and took me the weekend to finish. I was little when her show was out but do remember it so it was interesting reading about that time in her life and about her marring Eddie Van Halen even though I not a huge fan of Van Halen.

Liz Gilbert Eat Pray Love...Very good book!! She is a great writer and so funny!!! I am sure everyone has read this book but it not it is totally worth it!!

Tori Spelling Stori Telling.... Another person I am not a big fan of but did really come to like her after reading this book. Her childhood was very interesting as the relationship with her mom. This was another easy read and only took me a couple of days to finish. Loved all the 90210 info in it too. I loved that show in highshcool.

Day 5 In Cabo

Day 5 was the day we went on the speed boat that went 100mph over the waves out to snorkel. That boat was awesome!!!! Then back to the pool and dinner and a show. Also on day 2 or 3 we did the jet skies which were a lot of fun but I did not get any pictures. That concludes the pictures. I took about a million pictures but just put up a few. It was a great trip, one I will never forget! If you ever get a chance to visit Cabo I highly recommend it!! Lots of fun!!!

Day 3 In Cabo

Day 3 was spent at the pool all day and then we went on a pirate party boat. They did 2 funny shows and gave us a tour of the rocks out at sea and served us drinks (open bar) and chips, snacks. The picture with the rock and the boat is the actual boat we went on. The sunset if a picture I took on the boat. I did not use photo shop on any pictures!

The Brave Little Soul

Not too long ago in Heaven there was a little soul who took wonder in observing the world. He especially enjoyed the love he saw there and often expressed this joy with God. One day however the little soul was sad, for on this day he saw suffering in the world.
He approached God and sadly asked, "Why do bad things happen? Why is there suffering in the world?"
God paused for a moment and replied, "Little soul, do not be sad, for the suffering you see, unlocks the love in people's hearts." The little soul was confused.
"What do you mean?," he asked.
God replied, "Have you not noticed the goodness and love that is the offspring of that suffering? Look at how people come together, drop their differences and show their love and compassion for those who suffer.
All their other motivations disappear and they become motivated by love alone."

The little soul began to understand and listened attentively as God continued,
"The suffering soul unlocks the love in people's hearts much like the sun and the rain unlock the flower within the seed. I created everyone with endless love in their heart, but unfortunately most people keep it locked up and hardly share it with anyone. They are afraid to let their love shine freely, because they are afraid of being hurt. But a suffering soul unlocks that love. I tell you this - it is the greatest miracle of all. Many souls have bravely chosen to go into the world and suffer - to unlock this love – to create this miracle - for the good of all humanity."

Just then the little soul got a wonderful idea and could hardly contain himself.
With his wings fluttering, bouncing up and down, the little soul excitedly replied,
"I am brave; let me go! I would like to go into the world and suffer so that I can unlock the goodness and love in people's hearts! I want to create that miracle!"

God smiled and said, "You are a brave soul I know, and thus I will grant your request. But even though you are very brave you will not be able to do this alone. I have known since the beginning of time that you would ask for this and so I have carefully selected many souls to care for you on your journey. Those souls will help you create your miracle; however they will also share in your suffering. Two of these souls are most special and will care for you, help you and suffer along with you, far beyond the others. They have already chosen a name for you."
God and the brave little soul shared a smile, and then embraced.

In parting, God said, "Do not forget little soul that I will be with you always. Although you have agreed to bear the pain, you will do so through my strength. And if the time should come when you feel that you have suffered enough, just say the word, think the thought, and you will be healed."

Thus at that moment the brave little soul was born into the world, and through his suffering and God's strength, he unlocked the goodness and love in people's hearts. For so many people dropped their differences and came together to show their love. Priorities became properly aligned. People gave from their hearts.

Those who were always too busy found time. Many began new spiritual journeys - some regained lost faith - many came back to God. Parents hugged their children tighter. Friends and family grew closer. Old friends got together and new friendships were made. Distant family reunited, and every family spent more time together. Everyone prayed. Peace and love reigned. Lives changed forever. It was good. The world was a better place.
The miracle had happened.
God was pleased.

Update

Hello Everyone!

We went to Cabo last week and had a blast!! I started the pictures but started to add new photo shop software and now I can not get to my pictures. Paul will have to come to my rescue so until then I cannot add the pictures but I will as soon as I can. We had a great time!! We stayed at RIU Palace, an all exclusive resort. All our drinks, food, hotel stay were included. (You can also get airfare included but we used our miles for our flights) The food was awesome!! We ate and ate and ate and I really thought by the time we got home I would of gained 10 pounds back but I only gained 3 pounds!!! Yea!!

We stayed 5 nights, 6 days (leaving on the 6th day) and that was really the perfect amount of time there. We talked to a couple that had been there 7 days and they were leaving on the 8th day and they said they stayed too long and were ready to go home.

Our hotel did shows every night that were really good. They had different themes every night. During the day they always had a competition going on at the pool. Very entertaining!

We went shopping in Cabo, did jet skies, did a party boat, did a speed boat out to snorkel. The speed boat out to snorkel was the most fun! There were 12 people on this boat and your seat kind of looked like a saddle for a horse and the boat went 100mph over waves and did fast circles, ect for about 30 min out to a place to snorkel. The ride out was worth the money. It was so fun and you literally flew over waves!! Then you go to two places to snorkel and then a wild and crazy ride back. Loved that boat ride!!!

It was good to get back home! I really missed the kids!! One night half way through the week I woke up and was ready to go home to see them. I missed them so much I literally tried to figure out a way to get home early but then the next day came and I was ok. The kids had fun with Courtney and Diane. Courtney took them swimming, laser tag, out to eat, park, ect so they had a blast.

The day we traveled home was mine and Paul's 11 year annv. 8-8-08! I have a post to do about that so stayed tuned! I love you Paul and thanks for the best vacation and 11 years of my life!!!

I hope to get pictures up soon!

GT2008

Every year my friend Sybil puts together a girl's trip. Some years only 3 or 4 people will be able to make it and other years 15 people will go. The trips are always fun with lots of memories made and lots and lots of laughter!! The trips have been in Dallas, Arizona, Seattle, Austin, and other cities I can't remember at the moment. This year the trip was in Austin (easy for me this year :)!) As always we had a great time and lots of laughs! This year our really good friend, Pauline was not able to make it. This was the first girl's trip she has missed. A few months ago she was diagnosed with throat cancer. We missed you Pauline and all our prayers and thoughts are with you!!!
