Austin had a small fair that we went this weekend. It had a few rides and a hotdog stand but the kids had a lot of fun!!! This was the first year that Austin has had one so not many people were there which made it even better as far as no lines for the rides. We had a great Friday night at the fair! ps. That little deer in Jade's pic was so cute and just followed Jade around at the petting zoo. I wanted to take him home!
This past weekend both boys had their end of season baseball tournament. Branson's team made it through two games but the team did great!! All the players on Brans' team were 1st timers this season so from the beginning till the end the improvements were amazing!! The last game at the very end Brans was playing left field and the ball was hit out to him and scoped it up and a runner had just ran to third and was running home and instead of throwing the ball Brans ran it in and got the kid out right at home!!! Everyone was talking about it because the speed that he ran to run that ball in was amazing!! I have never seen him run that fast!!
Kyler played 8 games this weekend!!! They made it to the finals and got second place!! The kids did a great job and they all worked really hard to make it to the finals!! Kyler made a lot of base hits and many trips to home plate!! He did a great job!! The last game for first place was really close and all the kids did really great! Kyler got a troughy that he is really proud of for 2nd place!
Sun night we went to the end of year baseball for Branson's team. We all had a great time and all the kids had a lot of fun with confetti eggs, pinyatas, playing tag, football, baseball, eating pizza. The adults had fun drinking! ha! ha!
Kyler's end of baseball party is in a couple of weeks and guess what they are doing.....Going to a UT game!!! And they get to meet the players!!! Kyler's coach knows the UT coach so all the kids are supper excited!! I will take lots of pictures when that day comes!!
So that was our weekend! Hope everyone had a good one!
My hairdresser and friend (Hi Erica!!) back in Dallas told me about this one....Have you ever been to Tony and Guy? One thing they offer is a Hair Health Bar. You can have this extra deep conditioning done to your hair for only 25.00. I had it done once and really did like the results. Erica use to work at Tony and Guy and she left to opened her own place. She told me how to do the deep conditioning at home to save money. First wash your hair like normal including your conditioner and rinse like normal. Then towel dry your hair but still leave danmp and put a conditioner on your hair again. She recommended Tresemme (she said all the expensive stuff is basically the same except more expensive) for dry or damaged hair. Any kind of cond will work as long as it is for dry or damaged hair. I also like Herbal essences color me happy. After you put on the cond (I put a ton on and run my fingers through my hair and then put even more on!) blow dry your hair for 20 to 30 min. I use the low setting only because my hair dries too fast on high.It is ok if your hair does dry. Erica said you have to at least dry for 20 to get the best results. Then back in the shower and rinse hair. In the winter I do this every 6 weeks and in the summer every 8 weeks. I love the results!! Your hair will thank you!!
Johnny Depp says this line in his movie Sweeny Todd. A moive about a man in love with his wife and has a baby girl. They are taken away from him and for years Johnny Depp is obsessed with how he will get back at the man who stole them from him. Years later he has his chance and he has changed from a handsome man to the Sweeny Todd and right before he offs the guy he tells him "No Doubt The Years Have Changed Me." That is my favorite line in that movie because I feel like it is true with a lot of people as they go through life.
When you were little did you ever know an adult who you thought was so much fun and just loved to be around them? Then for what ever reason the adult is no longer around, maybe they moved off. And you go through life telling people about how awesome this person was and how funny and fun they were only to meet up with them again as an adult and the funny fun person is no longer there? You keep trying to figure out where that big ball of sun shine of a person went because clearly this person that you are with now is not the person you knew back then? Then you start to question yourself thinking maybe this person wasn't so fun or funny and maybe they were just like this back then but you remember it wrong because you were a kid. Well this has happened to me in my life. I knew someone when I was a kid and they were so fun. The person was really a big ball of light and people just could not get enough of being around them but then I grew up and met up with this person again and yes they had changed.
This person had gone through divorce, being at a job for years that they did not like, lets downs, disappointments, hardships and through it all their light had dimmed. The fun, funny, awesome person that everyone once knew was barely there anymore. It made me look around at everyone I knew and had known to see that not only had this person changed but a lot of others I knew had changed as well over the years and really not for the good.
Another person I knew that use to be fun to talk to now only had complaints about everything in their life.
A friend that I have had for years and years only talks about how lonely she was and all her regrets. This person had a great laugh and I haven't heard it for a long time.
And yet another person that had always been the jokester and always making people laugh barely ever cracked a smile. I had told people about how this person was going to make them laugh so hard but after they met them they asked me "I thought you said this person was funny?" I said, "They use to be."
I understand it. I know I have changed too through the years. Let downs, fear, worry they will cloud you and put that light out that everyone once knew if you are not careful. I have learned you have to work at being positive and happy sometimes. And I really understand how at times you need to smile, be positive but dang it...you just don't want to! But you don't want to grow into the grumpy old person. The old lady yelling at everyone and cussing. You know you have seen them and you think they have lost their mind well....they have lost themselves I bet. I am pretty sure that old lady yelling and cussing and being just mean didn't always act that way.
I really feel you have to make a effort and look back at how you were when you were in your early 20's or teens and think how much you use to laugh, smile, do fun wild things, how you were to your friends, ect and compare it to now. You can make an effort to be like that again or at least try and smile a few more times a day. Trust me....you don't want to meet up with someone you haven't seen in years and have them walk away from you wondering what happen to that "fun, great" person!
Hi! My name is Carolyn and I have the three best kids in the world along with the best husband ever! My oldest son, Kyler is 10. Branson is 7 and my daughter, Jade, just turned 2. My two sons have cf. We treat cf the same way we do taking a shower or brushing our teeth. You have to take a shower but you don't talk about it all day or think about it all day. You just do it. And that is the way we treat cf, we do what we need to do but thats all the attention cf gets! Then we spend the rest of the day doing things we love and have fun with! Now I know cf is more serious than brushing your teeth, ect but this is the best way I can explain it. CF is a part of our lives but we don't let it overtake our lives. I love horses and animals! I have a horse and ride English Hunter Undersaddle (jumping). I have had my horse since she was 3 and now she is 21 so for 18 years! I can't believe it has been that long! Update..our daughter Jade was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes Feb 09 ten days before her 2nd Bday. We are not sure why God has chosen this path for us and our kids but know we will continue on with love and strength and hope.
