Branson going in the hospital

Branson is going in the hospital on Monday for a week. Branson
had a ct scan of his lungs (something they do every year so the
doctor can get a good look at whats going on inside) and his right
lung was a little inflamed so the doctor wants to do a tune-up. A
tune-up is going into the hospital to do iv anti-bodics to help prevent
him from getting sick. It is far better to prevent something with the
lungs before the lungs get 'sick' because when lungs get sick they easily
scar and leave behind scar tissue which in turn makes them lose lung
function. Our doctor is very aggressive here in Austin which we really
appreciate that because in the long run we know that is what is needed for
Kyler and Branson's health in the future. Of all the cf clinics in the US the
patients that lived the longest were at the clinics that treated cf with aggressive
treatments and did a lot of preventive measures. So we know this is the best
thing...with that being said for me it is still like a hit over the head with a frying
pan and a kick in the stomach everytime we find out we have to go in. Or more like a
million hits over the head and a million kicks in the stomach! Even though we have
accepted this as part of cf it still hurts everytime to watch your child have to go through
it. On the outside Branson seems to be doing great! He runs everywhere and has a ton
of energy! Today in school the do something called the fun run in PE. 6 laps is a mile and Brnason ran 8 laps! That is how great he is doing! It is hard to put him in the hospital seeing him so active and feeling so great but we want to keep him that way so we know this is the best. The great thing about Branson is he is always so happy. Even when he has to go
though this. It really teaches you a lesson in life...no matter what you go through or
whats going on in life you can always smile and be happy. I love you Branson!!
