Organic Produce and Bugs

Q: If I switch to organic produce will I end up eating bugs?

A: So far, there is no definitive research showing any more bugs hitching rides into your kitchen via organic produce. Certified-organic crops are grown without using conventional synthetic pesticides-theirs are naturally derived and made with plant or mineral ingredients. No pesticide can squash every last bug, though, so to be safe rinse produce well. And know that accidentally eating an aphid is almost always harmless. (ever watch Survivor and how they make everyone eat bugs?)

This was also printed in Women's Health magazine. I just recently started getting Women's Health and really like it. Also we switched to organic a few years ago and it taste soooo much better!!!! We go to Whole Foods Market. I have on occasion bought some veggies and fruit at Target, Wal-Mart, HEB, ect in the organic section and they do not have very good choices and it doesn't always taste as good so I try to stick with Whole Foods Market.
